The pond of Canet is classified in the ecological network of the European sites known as Natura 2000. It extends over 1800 hectares and hosts more than 200 species of migratory birds, including the pink flamingo. A real paradise for all bird lovers. The fauna and flora of this natural area make it a rare and complete ecosystem. It represents a real cultural and patrimonial wealth for the Pyrenees-Orientales.
