Day trip to Conflent : Villefranche and its heritage
Camping les Flamants Roses**** offers you an excursion to the heart of Villefranche de Conflent, in small groups (maximum 9 people) on the Friday 24 May, then Mondays 3 June, 17 June and 2 September 2024.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Villefranche de Conflent boasts an exceptional heritage, with its ramparts encircling the town. Vauban, the “wanderer of the Sun King”, left his mark by fortifying the town!
Departure from the campsite at 9am for a visit to the Grottes des Canalettes (beware of the 14°C inside – don’t forget a jumper!).
Lunch break from 12pm to 2pm. We recommend the Catalan specialities restaurant ‘Le Patio’, which will even tempt vegetarians! (For bookings, call 04 68 05 01 92).
At 2pm, meet in front of the ramparts of Villefranche de Conflent for a tour accompanied by our guide!
And to round off the day in style, we’ll take you to the Orgues d’Ille-sur-Têt: a spectacular site listed as a protected area. Also known as the majestic fairy chimneys, this site is a real mineral gem!

Day trip to the Côte Vermeille: Collioure and its vineyards
Discover Collioure, an authentic and unspoilt seaside village in the Terres Catalanes region, in a small group (maximum 9 people) on the Mondays 27 May, 10 June, 24 June and 9 September 2024.
Departure from the campsite at 9am to start the day with a guided tour of the Caves des Templiers in Banyuls, where you will have the opportunity to taste the famous Banyuls and other local wines from different ranges.
At the end of the tour, you’ll head for Collioure, where you’ll be free until 2.30pm to wander the colourful streets of the city of painters, do some shopping and why not take a dip too! For lunch, we recommend the restaurant ‘Chez Simone’, facing the bay of Collioure, where you can sample fresh local produce combined with flavours from elsewhere.
At 2.45pm, we’ll have the opportunity to visit Collioure on board the little train to discover its history and its deepest secrets. The ride lasts around 45 minutes.
And to round off the day in style, at 4pm you’ll have the chance to visit the Château Royal de Collioure!

Hiking and relaxing day trip Cascade des Anglais
Fancy a day out combining sport and relaxation? Come and discover this beautiful medium-level hike accompanied by our leader! Don’t forget water, good shoes and comfortable clothing! Excursion on Monday 20 May, then on Fridays 7 June, 21 June and 6 September 2024.
Leave the campsite at 9 a.m. for the 1-hour drive to Vernet-les-bains!
Once you arrive at Vernet-les-bains, a 2-hour hike awaits you. You can be sure of a change of scenery with its waterfalls and lush greenery!
Time for a picnic! From 12.30 to 2pm, you can take a break to recharge your batteries in the middle of nature.
At 2pm, it’s off to the Bains de Saint Thomas, where you’ll be comforted after your exertions! In these hot springs you can relax and enjoy yourself for 2 hours.
Finally, at 4.30pm it’s time to head back to the campsite, but on the way there’s a short one-hour stopover in Eus. This little village is one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France. You can stroll through its charming little streets!

Full-day excursion to Leucate
The natural landscapes in and around Leucate are breathtaking! That’s why we’re offering you this excursion combining sport and culture! Don’t forget to bring water, good shoes and comfortable clothing! Excursion on Fridays 17 May, 31 May, 14 June, 28 June and 13 September.
Departure from the campsite is at 9am. After a 35-minute journey, you’ll be able to enjoy an easy hike from the Leucate lighthouse, accompanied by our guide. This 2-hour hike takes you over rocky ground to see the semaphore, the redoubt and the Leucate lighthouse, not to mention the breathtaking scenery and magnificent views of the cliffs!
After the hike, head to the oyster-farming centre 10 minutes away for a free break to enjoy a picnic or sample some oysters or other seafood from our beautiful region in an authentic setting!
In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to visit the fortress of Salses, a 2-hour visit where you will learn more about this military structure.

Day trip to Barcelona: discover the city of Gaudí
Discover Barcelona! Every Wednesday from May to September, as well as Tuesdays in July and August, we offer a guided day trip to discover Barcelona, departing from Canet-en-Roussillon at 6.25 am.
After a 2 hour 45 minute journey, you arrive in Barcelona at 10.15am for a guided tour of the city, including the Sagrada Familia (seen from the outside), Gaudi’s La Pedrera and Casa Batllo, the Plaça Catalunya, the Monjuic hill for a spectacular panoramic view of Barcelona and a guided tour of the Gothic Quarter.
At 13:15 you will have free time on the Ramblas for lunch.
At 4 p.m. you’ll catch the bus back to the Parc de la Citadelle and the Arc de Triomphe.

Day trip on the Don Pancho cruise: Rosas – Cadaquès
Between the sea and the mountains, you’ll love this excursion, which takes place every Tuesday (departure at 7.15am) and Thursday in July and August (departure at 6.25am). The coach picks up in Canet-en-Roussillon.
From 9.45am, board the Don Pancho at Santa Margarita and sail along the fabulous bay of Rosas towards Cadaquès. You’ll be able to admire many of the coves and landscapes for which this beautiful rocky coastline, the Costa Brava, is famous.
In Cadaquès, you’ll have 1h30 of free time to wander through the flower-filled alleyways and discover this little white village made famous by Salvador Dali.
Return by boat to Santa Margarita, where the coach will be waiting to take you to Rosas, where you will have free time for lunch.
At 4 p.m., you will return to the coach to discover the town of Empuriabrava, the famous “Catalan Venice”.
At 5:15 pm, you will make a one-hour stop at the “Gran Jonquera” shopping centre before returning to France.

Then 2 hours of free time in the “Gran Jonquera” shopping centre, where you’ll find boutiques selling top brands of ready-to-wear, shoes, decorations, watches, perfumes, toys, glasses, food, etc. and restaurants.

Day trip to Carcassonne: cruise and visit to the medieval city
To visit Carcassonne is first and foremost to take a trip back in time, to 2,500 years ago…
Nestling at the top of a hill, the medieval Cité dominates the whole town and is said to be one of the best-preserved medieval ensembles in the world.
Come and discover this jewel of our history and stroll through its charming streets and alleyways.
It’s a real immersion in the Middle Ages.
Every Wednesday in July and August, you’ll have the chance to discover the medieval city of Carcassonne and stroll along the Canal du Midi.
Departure is at 7.55am from Canet-en-Roussillon.
You will arrive at Carcassonne’s little port at 9.45am for a guided boat trip on the Canal du Midi lasting around 1.5 hours.
You will pass through the Carcassonne lock and enjoy a panoramic view of the medieval city.
At 12:00 noon, the coach will take you back to the medieval city where you will have some free time and lunch in this marvellous UNESCO World Heritage site.
Return to the coach at 16:30.

Day trip on the Little Yellow Train: in the heart of the Catalan mountains
Discover breathtaking scenery on board the Little Yellow Train. The excursion takes place every Thursday from July to September, departing from Canet-en-Roussillon at 7.10am.
Take the Little Yellow Train for a 1h15 journey from Villefranche de Conflent. All the way to Mont Louis – La Cabanasse station, you’ll discover rocky landscapes, interspersed with engineering structures and tunnels.
On arrival, head for the citadel of Mont Louis by coach, free time for a coffee break and then on to Font-Romeu, the department’s flagship ski resort, the spectacular Four Solaire d’Odeillo and the Spanish enclave of Llivia.
Lunch break at your leisure.
Then back on the coach to the Roussillon plain, where you can continue to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery.
There will be a stop at the town of Villefranche de Conflent, and then it’s time for the return journey.
